Student of the Month - Magnolia Lyons - Silicon Valley High School

We would like to give this recognition to Magnolia Lyons. Magnolia is the daughter of two hard-working parents and sister of three brothers. What amazed us about Magnolia is her outstanding capacity to focus on her daily tasks. One conversation that we held with her parents they said “….we work a lot so we do not have time or energy to remind her to do her work.”. During these last months, we have been tracking her and we chose her because we are sure that she is motivated and dedicated to doing her best on every single assignment.

Besides her academic successes, Magnolia enjoys practicing sports and outside activities. Recently she decided to start a community service project that consists of raising money for an NGO that focuses on solutions fighting worldwide hunger.

When asked her what  her plans after school would be, Magnolia said, “I hope to become a college math professor one day.  So, I appreciate that I am able to take extra classes in my favorite subject this year.”.

David Smith, CEO of Silicon Valley High School says “It’s been a pleasure to have Magnolia take courses with SVHS. I’m sure her work ethic will pay off in helping her achieve her short and long term goals”.

We are extremely proud to give Magnolia the August Student of the month award.
