Progress Dashboards

Our dashboard system is a comprehensive suite of tools designed to provide real-time insights and progress tracking for all stakeholders in the educational process. The Student Dashboard serves as a central hub for learners, offering a quick summary of each course and allowing students to drill down into their Gradebook and Assignment status. Scout, our data analyst bot acts as our AI-powered business intelligence tool and interfaces with our comprehensive Student Information System (SIS) to provide educators and partner schools with deep insights into student performance.

One of Sage’s key features is the AI Guided Video and Student Notebook system. As students watch course videos, Sage analyzes the content in real-time, offering additional context, clarifications, and prompts for deeper thinking. The AI encourages active learning by suggesting key points for note-taking and providing instant feedback on student notes, ensuring accuracy and comprehension.

Debate Chat

In Debate Chat, students engage in a structured argument with Dot on course-related topics. This activity helps students develop critical thinking skills, learn to construct logical arguments, and consider multiple perspectives on complex issues. Dot can take on various positions, challenging students to defend their viewpoints with evidence and reasoning. This exercise not only reinforces subject knowledge but also hones valuable skills in argumentation and persuasion.

Language Chat

For language courses, Dot transforms into a conversational partner to help students practice their speaking and comprehension skills. The AI can engage in dialogues at various proficiency levels, correct pronunciation, explain grammar points, and even simulate real-world scenarios like ordering in a restaurant or asking for directions. This feature provides students with a safe, judgment-free environment to practice language skills at their own pace. In all these activities, Dot employs a sophisticated grading system that provides real-time feedback to students. A dynamic “gradeometer” updates as the interaction progresses, giving students immediate insight into their performance. Character Chat

Character Chat brings history and literature to life by allowing students to interact with AI-powered historical figures or literary characters. For instance, a student might discuss the American Revolution with a virtual George Washington or explore the themes of “Pride and Prejudice” with Elizabeth Bennet. This immersive experience helps students gain a deeper, more personal understanding of historical contexts and literary works. Dot adapts its language and knowledge base to accurately represent the chosen character, providing an engaging and educational role-playing experience.

Barni–AI Proctor

Trained with unique capabilities to sniff out cheating, Barni proctors summative tests such as essays, assignments and finals. Barni locks down the PC when the test starts, tracks the students eye movements and other student behavior.

When a student initiates a summative test, Barni first authenticates their identity through facial recognition, voice verification, and typing pattern analysis. He then secures the testing environment by locking down the student’s device, allowing access only to the SVHS Smart Editor.

During the assessment, Barni utilizes the device’s camera and microphone to monitor the student. He tracks eye movements to detect any attempts at accessing unauthorized resources, such as smartphones or secondary screens. Barni also analyzes audio input to identify potential verbal assistance or use of audio aids.

Although the first version is rules-based, subsequent versions will employ machine learning algorithms to recognize patterns indicative of cheating behavior, allowing for more nuanced and accurate detection. This approach helps maintain a fair testing environment while minimizing false positives that could unfairly penalize honest students.

 

Barni’s capabilities are seamlessly integrated with the SVHS Smart Editor, creating a comprehensive, secure assessment platform. This integration allows for a holistic approach to academic integrity, combining active proctoring with a controlled writing environment.

By providing robust proctoring without the need for human supervision, Barni enables SVHS to offer flexible, on-demand testing options while maintaining the highest standards of academic honesty. This technology is not only used by SVHS but is also made available to partner schools adopting the SVHS curriculum, helping to address the growing challenges of online assessment integrity across educational institutions.

Ace & Smart Editor

The SVHS Smart Editor is an advanced, AI-enhanced writing environment designed to support students during assessments while maintaining academic integrity. At its core is Ace, an AI writing and assessment guide that provides real-time assistance to students as they compose their responses.

When a student begins an assessment, the Smart Editor creates a focused, distraction-free space. It prevents copy-pasting from external sources and integrates seamlessly with Barni’s proctoring capabilities. This controlled environment ensures that all work is original and completed within the designated parameters of the assessment.

Ace, the AI assistant embedded in the Smart Editor, serves as a supportive guide throughout the writing process. It offers clarification on assignment prompts, suggests ways to improve essay structure, and provides feedback on grammar and style. However, Ace is carefully calibrated to assist without compromising the assessment’s integrity – it helps students articulate their own ideas more effectively rather than generating content for them.

 

 

A unique feature of the Smart Editor is the real-time gradeometer. As students write, this tool provides an estimated grade based on the teacher’s predefined rubric. This immediate feedback allows students to gauge their progress and make improvements before submission, turning the assessment process into a more active learning experience.

The Smart Editor also includes specialized tools for different subjects. For mathematics, it incorporates features that allow students to input complex equations and draw geometric shapes. For language courses, it supports special characters and diacritical marks essential for accurate expression.

Frankie is an academic coach, helping students to select courses, navigate through the high school process and prepare for college.

 

Frankie is an AI-powered academic coach integrated into the SVHS Learning Platform. This virtual advisor leverages comprehensive student data to provide personalized guidance on academic pathways, college preparation, and career planning. Frankie assists students in course selection aligned with their long-term goals, suggests extracurricular activities to enhance college applications, and offers insights on potential career paths based on student interests and strengths.

Jax–AI Customer Service Bot

Jax is our customer service agent, helping students and website visitors with basic information on how to take courses, get transcripts, etc. Jax is not quite as well-informed as Sid who is trained on a wider range of knowledge.
